Cancun, 2020

My partner and I spent an amazing, beautiful, fun week in Cancun from January 9th – January 16th, 2020. I know it was a good trip because I started full on crying the day we had to leave. I also know it was a good trip because I procrastinated on editing my silly vlog (below) and putting together my photo diary (also below). It feels a bit self-indulgent to compile this in the midst of a pandemic, but please join me in reminiscing about less strange times!

The photo highlight reel consists of three categories.

1. Our day at Isla Mujeres, which was, in retrospect, one of the best days of my life:

The municipal cemetery was so peaceful, I felt really lucky to see it.
The waves along the shore were the most beautiful waves I’ve ever seen.
I got very sunburnt and had to hide under my coverup and my big hat, but I was still SO HAPPY.

2. Our day trip to Chichen Itza (which has been on my bucket list for a very long time and which I was very excited about):

If you watched the video you’ll have seen how stupidly overexcited we were to be there and how we probably annoyed our tour guide by asking four billion questions, haha.
Lunch break!
Cenote Saamal, where we took a wonderful lil dip.

3. General dicking around:

Me on our first night, ready to get the show on the road.
Shortly after Ari’s first-ever dip in the Atlantic!
There was a foam party, which would not typically appeal to me, but when in Rome…
Plus I got to witness this.
Obv had to go to Senor Frog’s like the tourists we are…
Ari, bags packed, lamenting the fact that we ever had to leave this incredible place :'(

Allow me to conclude on a lighter note by humbly presenting this gallery of corny tourist pics of myself that I amassed:
