My Hands series stems from my interest in portraiture that is not of a face. I find hands to be very revealing of the state of one’s health– particularly one’s mental health– and I’m interested in continuing to explore this visual theme at various points throughout my life.
Hands, I (March 2017) – Bruises left from an IV drip following a hospitalization.
Hands, II (August 2019) – My pill case.
Hands, III (September 2019) – Painkillers, both for my mind, and my body following PRK surgery.
Hands, IV (March 2021) – Bruises from a bad, drunken fall, following a breakup.
