A Real Piece of Work is Sadhype’s (AKA my) debut EP: pop infused with EDM and rap, linked by a lyrical voice that’s witty, intricate, and unflinchingly honest. Through elaborate wordplay and hard-won humour, the record digs past the layers of glitter to transform stories of abuse, depression, and PTSD into something unexpectedly hopeful. It’s both sad, and hype.

As a multidisciplinary artist, beyond writing the lyrics and performing the vocals, I approached A Real Piece of Work as a fully realized visual project. I led the EP’s visual direction from end to end, creating the album artwork and a distinct Spotify Canvas for each track through concept development, cinematography, editing, and on-screen performance.
